Mission and Vision

One day, during a class discussion on current events, I raised a critical issue related to the Iran-Palestine conflict that was making headlines. To my surprise, many of my classmates were perplexed, and some were entirely unaware of the situation. Acknowledging this knowledge gap, I decided to take action. I created this platform as a medium to inform and engage student on these vital and multifaced issues.

This blog serves to empower and inform students about the most pressing global humanitarian and political crises by providing easy to understand, insightful, and accessible information. Acknowledging that high school and college students have a lot on their plate, from academics to extracurriculars and have limited time and/or energy to dive deep into complex global crises, this blog focuses on providing information that’s quick to read and easy to understand. The information presented in blog posts is derived from extensive research using respectable and globally renounced websites (of organisations). My mission is motivated by a strong desire to raise awareness amongst students and foster a sense of responsibility towards addressing global issues.

I envision a world where every student is aware and holistically informed of the most significant crises affecting the global community. Through this blog, I strive to empower and inspire young minds to engage in debate and take informed action, contributing to the resolution of these issues.

Impact

In just 10 months of operation, Crisis in Focus has raised over 500€ through donations aimed at supporting the humanitarian crises covered. The initiative has also gained more than 100 shares on social media, thanks to high school students posting the blog posts on their Instagram stories. Crisis in Focus primarily grows through word of mouth, and now is looking to expand onto the global stage to engage even more young people in making a difference.
